Hello All, brand new and have a few questions
Alright, I just bought a 95 camaro LT1, ran great for a while, however all of a sudden it seemed to start slipping in first at high rpm's. I thought that perhaps my stall was having problems because it seemed to 'half' engage into gear, partial power but not near enough go for first. It slowly got worse which suggested that it was tranny problems. But then I tried to reprogram my Hypertech chip and all of a sudden that wasn't working either.....said that the power program wasn't initialized and to call Hypertech's 1 800 number....I have done that several times but they are always closed when I call after work. So, just curious if anyone knows what could be going on...my poor car has been parked in the garage for a week now...I should hopefully have the $$ for a new chip and tranny, but if this is the problem what is the best tranny to buy and also should I stick with Hypertech and get the Hypertech 3 or change brands?? I guess that is all for now....I am desperate for any input regarding these questions. Thanks for helpin' out

sorry, i really dont have any advice about the tranny. now the computer.. thats a whole different story. if you are only using some crappy power tune from hypertech then your car must be running horrible. with a cam and supercharger you need a real tune from someone with experience... not hypertech. does your car still start up?... you didnt lose connection with the hypertech plugged in i hope.
It still starts up and runs fine....the problem is that if I get on it much at all it just loses first and revs up....which was making me think that the stall was trying to engage, especially with the rattling and vibrating going on.....so I am truly confused as I don't know much about stalls and auto trannies as this is my first auto. And with the Hypertech I had everything set to high power settings......it has a 3.73 rear end and had some good jump to start with until the problem arose, the worst part is I haven't even been able to try a hole shot yet
....pretty depressing.
....pretty depressing.
No, I haven't checked for pressure yet, thanks for the idea...my main problem is that I don't have much for tools available to me....but I can probably find someone around that does. Thanks for the suggestion

i could'nt say for sure....put my friend had a truck w/ a 4l60e in it and it sliped like that at high rpm and it was the tranny filter that was cloged with ****, he drained(took of pan) and changed filter(10bux @autozone) and put the pan back on and filled it up and it was good....also if you trans has never been flushed you need to do this anywayz, gm recommends 100k for normal use w/o flush, and 20k severe use(aka street racing) lol...so might wanna do it anywayz...rearend as well..its due at 75k
Hey, thanks a lot...great suggestion. I know the car as just under 105k on it, but the engine is less then a year old....the guy that I bought it from explained how his kid blew up the last motor on the strip...they were runnin' No2, then this engine was built and they put on a supercharger to be a little more safe. I have only had the car a month and I am still a little unsure of all the mods but he said they were runnin' low 12's at the strip with it...I just need to get this prob resolved. I have the paper work for when the speed shop installed the cam, supercharger and stuff....I have the 1.6 roller rockers that go with the cam (crane) but haven't installed them yet. But the date on the installation of all that equip is 9/12/02. Not sure if any of that info helps anyone else out with suggestions, but I am open
.
Thanks again
