heater problem
heater problem
i went to my car this morning and started it to go to work turned my heater and deforst on and even full blast only got a little heat to blow as if the car was off and you turn the heat on. man it was cold and the heat never kicked all the way to work 30 min drive the only thing i did yesterday was jack the car up and rotate the wheels and painted the caliper red what could have happen
Re: heater problem
well to make things worse the dang thing fixed it's self went out there after work it kicked right on oh well. i took my filter out for the first time in a long time man it was black, can i use anything else to wash the k and n filer out and what type of oil can i use
Re: heater problem
I would go to an auto store like Napa or whatever is nearby and buy a k&N filter kit it should include filter cleaner and oil. Don't use anything other than filter oil or filter cleaner to do the job. It isn't that expensive and you could really mess some crap up if you try to improvise. Filtering dirt out is a very crucial part of keeping an engine healthy.
Re: heater problem
thanks alot i got the filter cleaned and the car revs a lot easier on the highway but i still seem to have a problem when im sitting still the temp on the car goes way up and as soon as i get the car moving it goes back down to 180 degrees what could cause this never in the red but as far as it could try to go. also right after racing or swing the car it gets real hot real fast any help would be great thanks.
Re: heater problem
It's normal for the temp to go up when you are not moving as there is no air passing across the radiator. The fans don't come on until 226° which is a little over half-way on the gauge.
