heater hose issue

I am trying to replace a part of the heater hose harness where a small hose attaches to a silver color coupling. The small hose easily attaches to a nipple on the engine but the other end that attaches to this silver coupling did not come off. I had to cut the hose off which maybe was a mistake.

Question....can this hose only be assembled by reeming out all the old hose debris out of this coupling and then inserting this hose with some kind of glue or cement?

Thanks for your reply

Re: heater hose issue

Dremel off the crimped collar and you can use a hose and a clamp.
