Well "finally" (122K+) the inlet heater water hose on my '94 Z busted.
Question; Can this hose be replaced with a regular automotive water hose, bypassing the inline valve or is it absolutely neccessary to replace it with the original($$$) hose?

I really don't use the heater too often here in Sth.Florida.

The stock hoses are designed to survive being routing adjacent to the exhaust manifold.

 

If one part of the hose is broken, just replace that part of it. You can Dremel off the swaged collar and put a new hose on with a clamp.

It's 3/4" hose for either side of that fitting..

Well, $8 and about 25 minutes later and the hose is fixed and working great!!
Bought a foot of 3/4 heater/water hose, two clamps and a heater hose coupler at Advanced Auto Parts, followed Shoebox's advise and voila!
