heater core... questions

ok my heater core is disconnected and the hoses are missing... being at idle for more then 1 or 2 minutes my temperature is creeping up to 215 or 230... is this normal or is this becuase there is supposed to be some more fluids in there?

and second where can i buy one and how much should it cost?

I don't know what you mean by the hoses are missing? But if they are not on the car the heater hose set goes for $150 at the dealer. A heater core is only $30 or so from autozone.

I paid a whole hell of a lot more for a heater core. I paid like 90 bucks and that was the cheapest I could find.

I think he's saying he's bypassed the heater core and since then the temp is 215-230. and that he wanted to know if the higher temperature is cause by having less fluids in the cooling system(since he bypassed the heater core).. just what I got from it.

I also don't think the temperature would rise much if at all just because of that.. but hey, I don't know much about LT1's ad that's why I'm on the board.

I have my heater core bypassed also (don't need it here) and my temps are normal. Of course when I sit in traffic it will climb untill the fans turn on, then it quickly goes down again. Normal for an LT1.
