Heat inside the car

i just finished a lt1/t56 swap on my camaro, and ive noticed that the car has a lot more heat inside than when it had the v6. most of the heat is coming through the center console where the emergency brake lever meets the six speed.

im new to the lt1 world, and im not sure if this is the case with all of them, but i do have to say that it is unbearably hot in my car.

i dont have the air working at the moment, the clutch on the compressor is broken, but im just saying in general, the cockpit of the car is very hot.

any suggestions?

Re: Heat inside the car

you might have an air leak allowing hot air to be blown into the car.

when i swapped my t56 in i also had alot of heat. i sealed the bottom boot on the shifter to the body, and i used a peice of fabric taped to stick and then taped to the top of the rubber boot to keep air from blowing in.

Re: Heat inside the car

how big did you cut the hole to get the t56 to mount in? if it's a big hole then you'll get a lot of heat. cover with something like dyna mat hood or high heat stuff. my auto lt1 doesnt get too hot although i do notice the shifter and e-brake handle are extremely hot (nice in the winter
