Heard a noise while adjusting roller rocker, what is it?
Hey guys, I'm almost done doing my head swap. Well I was putting on my roller rockers and adjusting them. I was rotating the motor by hand using the balancer in the clockwise direction. I just got done adjusting the driver's side roller rockers. I moved to the passenger side, before I could even adjust the first set of roller rockets, while I was rotating the motor I heard this pinging noise. I felt the vibration in my hand, since I was holding the ratchet on the balancer.
So I just stopped so I don't to any damage if it's a bad thing. Did I just mess something up? What's the noise I'm hearing?

could be a pushrod fell out of it's pocket in the rocker. could be just a normal sound of the valves opening, (they sound like....soap bubbles popping....).
sharp ping sound though I'd wager something like the pushrod pushing against a rocker that has not been adjusted yet and it is binding.
But the fix is to eye-ball everything you just installed and certainly you'll see what could be causing the sound.
