Heads- If you increase CFM & Velocity u will gain hp.?
Heads- If you increase CFM & Velocity u will gain hp.?
Ok right now I have the LE heads and very happy with them but they are not fully ported or polished.
THey flow around 255cfms @ .550 and have good midlifts.
I have a friend who doesnt have as much experience (ported maybe 5 sets of heads TPI,LT1's and 1 LS1) as lloyd but has a flow bench and pipes to measure velocity.
The heads are off the car right now.
My friend has gotten 270 at .550 with good midlifts out of another set of LT1 heads.
As long as we increase cfm's midlift and up and increase port velocity we will gain horsepower right?
I have a XE230/236 112LSA cam which will help push the air through even if we loose a little velocity right?
At the very least i can see where we can smooth a couple things out and polish the exhaust ports but I dont want to loose power.
So as i asked before. If we increase cfm and velocity in the mid and upper rpms I can not lose power right?
