Heads and Helicoil

Has anyone ever helicoiled the header bolt holes??? I know the rocker studs come from the factory helicoiled, and the spark plugs get done on a regular basis, but can the header bolt holes be helicoiled??? And if so, what are the thread specifications/helicoil size???? I've got a set of heads I'm getting ready to play with and a couple of the header bolt holes are in REALLY bad shape.

Re: Heads and Helicoil

I had to have it done to a set of LT1 heads I was selling before they would sell. It was only one bolt hole and my buds at the machine shop took care of it for like 10 bucks.
