Post Heads/Cam What to be careful for when modding

What should i be careful about when i go about this procedure?? The guy before me already had the heads taken off to check the cylinder walls to see if it would be a good motor to mod, so i know my motor is decent from that standpoint. I have 75k on the engine. Theres also a good cam install guide i plan on using here Tech Section Im just looking for some tips on doing this, as it will be my first time swapping a cam and heads. I plan on getting AI or Lloyds Heads/Cam along with porting my intake to match. To me the cam install seems easy but tedeous, as long as i am very careful in pulling the cam out and installing it, praying to god the cam bearing stays good. The heads seem easier as i plan on having the heads assembled for bolt on. What about pushrods? Use the ones i have now or no? Anything else? Any help is appreciated, remember im a NFG to this , so dont overlook the little things. The furthest i have gone before this is swapping intakes, and typical bolt ons on a SBC

Not that this relates a whole lot to the post, but have you checked out the MN F-body club?
