Heads and Cam Parts
Heads and Cam Parts
Well I'm planning on a heads and cam install sometime in March hopefully. I wanted to start getting all the parts listed out to make sure I have everything. I'll make my list and if I am missing anything please let me know.
GTP LT4 Heads
GTP LT4 Intake
Bret Bauer Racing Custom Matched Cam [LE2-ish]
Crane Lifters
Beehive Spring Kit
36-38lb Injectors
95+ Venter Opti Conversion
Cloyes Double Roller Timing Set
AS&M 58mm TB
Comp Hi-Tech pushrods
Head and Intake gaskets [Depending on CC size]
Missing anything?
Thanks.

Re: Heads and Cam Parts
Timing cover and waterpump gaskets. I usually get them from Autozone since they carry Fel-Pro.
Be sure and drop the oil pan down in the front or you'll rip the gasket since it presses against the bottom of the timing cover. Also, if you don't drop the pan and you remove/reinstall the timing cover not at a close to perfect angle it can rip the waterpump drive seal (that is if you are keeping it).

Does anyone think I'll need a 255lph fuel pump - Walbro,etc?

Re: Heads and Cam Parts
I run the stock pump in mine and there's no fuel pressure drop at WOT thru 3rd. Its probably not a bad idea to use one of those Racetronix kits, but you may not need it...When we freshened the top end of my motor I was going to get the Racetronix pump kit, but once we got to the dyno it was clear that we had enough fuel...When my stock pump craps out then I'll do it...

Re: Heads and Cam Parts
Alright so the stocker might work but its a better idea to go with the racetronix stuff. Since I am playing it safe everywhere else I might as well do the same with fuel.
The tune is no problem, I have unlimited email tunes through Madwolf and a laptop to put them on with. I probably wont dyno tune it right away, although I might make a few runs on one just to see how things are working and help Ion out with some of the guess work. Oh and of course to have some rear wheel numbers.
I cant believe ABA383 is still using a stocker. Way to stretch the dollar.
Thanks guys.

Re: Heads and Cam Parts
Well I'm happy to say I only have a few more items to get.
Cloyes True Double Roller Timing Set - I'll buy from Summit the next time I drive past
Bret Bauer Custom Camshaft and Springs - I'll buy after I get my head specs confirmed
Hi-Tech Pushords - Waiting to see if I'm getting some with the heads if not Summit again
Thanks for the help guys.
