So lets talk throttle body options...

Not a huge selection out here but, whats the pros/cons of each?

58MM with N20 Passages

58MM VS 52MM On a FI 383?

Would there be a significant difference running a 52MM versus a 58MM with a ported intake?

How hard is it to home port-match the 58MM to the intake manifold without much other than a dremel?

Anyone ever successfuly do a monoblade conversion? What all would be involved in that?

I plan to make a supercharged low compression 383, and I think it would be worthwhile for me to go to twin 58, versus 52 since its oging to be a FI motor when im done with it. I dont really know if their enough to bottleneck it or not though?

Any other questions/comments?

Throttle bodies havent been discussed in here for quite some time now.

Most say that a stock TB will work for any application, and some swear that bigger is better. I went with a Holley 52mm for my H/C 355.

Re: So lets talk throttle body options...

Since im going to build a 383 Forced Induction motor, either procharged, or some type of turbo, or twin turbo, set up, I figure I cant go too big for the #'s I want to make

So really all I was looking at was 58MM, and seeing if anyone ever converted to a mono-blade stlye like an LS1 has. I was wondering how extensive that could be ($$$) because it didnt really seem like it would be worth it? Hard topic to find anything on too.

Interesting ... Thanks.

Any idea what all would be involved in getting one of them to fit ( What would need ported. Could it be done at home like a 58MM can? )

58 will be fine if you match the intake to it.

monoblade will be over kill, specially on a supercharged car, the airs going to get forced in either way lol

I think that's because there isn't much information out there to be had. Perhaps I have overlooked it, but I have never seen a back to back comparison between a stock TB and a 52/58mm. Once I get my car running right I plan to do a back to back dyno comparison if I can find a 52mm TB to borrow for a few hours. I would like to compare a 58mm also, but my intake is not matched to accept that size.

we did that on a buddy of mines car.
he had normal bolts on with the 305 cam.
he gained 8-10 hp going from stock to the 58
it wasnt just peak hp, it was from 2k to 6k
