Heads and Cam on Higher Mileage Car

I have 96k miles on my 95 Z28 and my friend was telling me that doing heads and cam could be kinda dangerous depending on the condition of the motor. Anyone else done heads and cam with a higher mileage engine?? Any problems??

you'll be fine, an LT1 block will run well over 150K strong...Just take care of your car and you'll be good..

Don't worry too much. Just make sure you don't let much dirt into the engine while doing the mods. My car has 103k on it and I shift at 6600 regularly.

Re: Heads and Cam on Higher Mileage Car

I just did my heads/cam a couple months ago with 120k on my car. The motor looked great inside and it still has good oil pressure. I havent had any problems with the motor, runs strong all the way up 62-6300.

Re: Heads and Cam on Higher Mileage Car

I am glad I am getting a bunch of positive responses because I really want to go the heads and cam route. Thanks for all the input.
