I was the pit-crew for the day. It was very hot outside and no one seemed to be running up to par.

On another note...later that night "Rodriques" ran into a modded 99+ mustang gt and anihilated him. And then slightly pulled on a 99+ saleen s281 SUPERCHARGED.

My take on the whole thing is this...A couple mph was robbed from really hot weather. Run in 50 deg. and he'd probably see 110.

Next, he is still running the 3.42's and is crossing through the traps really low rpm wise. Throw some 4.10's on there and he'll be crossing the traps right at the peak power mark and I guarantee that will give him a mph or two. I picked up 5-6 mph from going with 3.73's and tuning (for a stock engine so not like I gained all the mph from tuning). I would say the 3.73's gave at least a few mph over the 2.73's.

Plus he has a some tuning issues to work out, but that's not the main problem. Gears and traction and he'll see mid 12's @ 110 or so if he can cut a 2.0 60ft without messing w/ the tuning at all.

You said it all when you said nittos in my opion. They hook very well one the street but the worst ive ever saw on the track. Im running 315/35/17 nitto 555's street i love em track i hate them! BFG makes a really good drag tire around here thats what our boys in the new cobras are running and there running 7.30's in a 8th (with mods of course). So dont get discouraged im in your boat.

My best MPH of the night was 108.74... thats with the cutout open. I think I need to get some slicks ... Would I break my rear end with slicks launching at like 3k?

My guess is that you where out at Milan, since your from MI. I'd also have to recommend getting some good rubber under that thing. 2.3 60' are crappy, but if you start hooking that should be high 12s easy

107 mph, thats a hair low. What was the temperature, barometer, humidity out, and what elevation was the track at?

Yeah, I am going to have to agree with everyone that those numbers seem low even with traction. My little brother has a 96 Z28 with stage 1 ported heads, LT4 Hotcam, 1.6 RRs, Electric H2O pump, Hooker Longtubes, Offroad ypipe, SLP 2OTL, PCM forless reprogram, K&N FIPK, Race Tranny, and 2500 stall. He was running 13.2s with the Hookers and K&N at like 104.5 mph (auto). He should be in the high 11's to very low 12's now. I would get some diagnostics on the car and try and go from there. Check the fuel pressure, are you getting good spark, any burned wires. But rubber and suspension pieces will help tremedously.

I made 4, 4000 rpm hooking launchs with my old 4.10s and stock heads and cam, and ran my 4.56's for a 3-4 months now with several high rpm launchs and am on the same rear. Driver has more to do with it than durability in my opion. A guy in town has lost to rears with his 4.56's and its stock with 235/55 tires on back. He sure does abuse the car. Maby im lucky or maby theres more to the whole rearend thing. my .02

Brother's Z w/ HotCam, Lt's, Dual Exh, CAI, 3.73 Gears, has done as high as 110 in the 1/4 in Texas Heat and high humidity.

Your trap is too low, scan that thing.

Good Luck.
