heads and cam et's

i have a set of mildly ported heads with stock sized 3 angled valves, 1.6 lt4 rockers. i haven't decided which cam i want yet. my car allready has full bolt on's and is an automatic with a 2000 stahl and 373's. all i want is to turn mid-high twelves. i also want to retain stock bottom end. i drive the car every day so i don't want a BLUP BLUP cam. i want something similar to stock idle or a little more bumpier than that. i was thinking cc304 cam. anyone have any idea's??? what are some set up's you might have with a stock bottom end???am i headen on the right track??? also looking for video's or sound clips of aftermarket cam's so i get an idea. any help would be great!!!!

Re: heads and cam et's

If you want a small cam that makes great power, passes emissions, and has a nice idle which is a little more lopey than stock, you want the LPE 211/219 cam..The specs are 211/219 @ .050 with .533"/.560" lift with 1.6s on a 112. That's the cam I ran in my LPE 383 for almost 10 years running high 11s at 115 only spinning the motor to 6000 rpms...Everyone said it was too tiny for a 383, but they saw tail lights at the track. I got 24-25 mpg on the highway. I can't say enough good things about that cam...Great for a daily driver...You may want to up your stall no matter what cam you get, though...

Yep, its their cam they use in their 383 packages...It also works great in stock displacement set ups, too....
