heads and cam ???

ok i have a 94 lt1 with all the bolt ons and 410 gears, its a six speed. it has 160,000 miles on it no probs at all no unusual noises using oil or anything. i was thinking about putting the new trickflow heads and the comp 306 cam in from summit for around 2000 for parts. would it be worth it with that many miles on my car or should i wait and do a rebuild?

thanks a lot terry

Do a rebuild. With the heads off and the cam out half of its done already...just pull the engine and do the rest.

I agree with the post before........I would not go that deep into the motor with out "doing it right" the first time.

Re: heads and cam ???

I'd recommend a rebuild. I had a 390 in a '67 Galaxie with 112,000 miles on it and I tried to do too much before the rebuild and blew it to hell and back. If you go with the rebuild you might want to look into what can be done for extra power since the whole thing will be taken apart, i.e. stroker, forged parts, boring the cylinders, etc. I'm not saying to do this, but if you're laying out money for a rebuild some extra to get solid parts or a few extra on the CID may be worth it to you.
