Re: heads

You should try out the search function. FWIW, I think people are pleased with either of these guys. They both do great work. I chose Lloyd

Re: heads

I talked to both before getting my heads. In the end I went with Lloyd and never looked back. Both are good at what they do.

Re: heads

I talked with Lloyd, Phil at AI, Bob at Precision Porting and a couple of other shops (TEA was another) and ended up with AI. All of the shops I mentioned have a loyal customer base. I felt comfortable with AI and sent them my business and now I am one of loyal AI customers.

My AI heads they were just so darn good looking that I did not want to button the engine up (they are motor ****).

aboatguy: I know what you mean. I wish I had a clear intake manafold so I could look at the ports every time I open the hood.

Honda Hunter: Which set up did you go with, and how did the car run?

I have never dealt with Lloyd, but he seems to have a strong following on this board. There are some good head people out there, you just have to find someone you are comfortable doing business with. I personally like AI's attention to detail. Phil is a little obsesive when it comes to machining tolerances and ports, but that's the way I approach a project (obsessed with perfection) so it was cool to work with a guy that was on the same page I was. And the results where great! Everything went together nice and I got high 11's n/a and mid 10's on spray! My car is a 6/gear, street car with AC, and was 3750 lbs at the time of the vid (and still is). Good luck with your project.

Re: heads

I had my AFR 190's ported to 216. The heads are great. He went above and beyond with them. I feel it was money well spent.
