Which heads???

Hears my dilema. I am building a 383 stroker set up with a cc306 cam. I have no idea what heads to buy. Combination motorsports have stage 1 head porting for 1200 bucks. Is this a good price?? My other question is should i just spend the 1200 and buy some lt4 heads??? Which would you guys do?? Or are there other cheaper alternatives?? Thanks

Hey have a set of stock ported lt1 heads that have comp springs that are set up for the 306 cam. I am running a 383 with the 306 cam and these heads and run 11.4 with them. They are still on the car and you can here them run if you live close enough. I you want them you can have them for 1,000. They are really good heads. I am just wanting to go faster by upgrading to some 220 afr lt4's.

There are numerous companys on the sponsors of camaroz28.com that are listed that do head work.

I would look into total engine airflow . They do good work and are reasonable. Then again there is Air Flow Research, GTP, TPIS, the list is endless... You may want to do a search on all the companys on the net.

I had the heads ported by a friend who has owned his own machine shop for 30 years. I had three angle valve job done and heads assembled by a speed shop in KY. If you live in or near ky you might have heard of Skytower racing. I had them flow One of the intake and exhaust just to see how good of job my buddy had done. They flowed 240 on the intake and 196 or 98 on the exhaust can't hardly remember. Not to bad for his first lt1 head I guess. Anyway they run real strong.
