why really i got to hear this, just so you know there is more resistance in a connector than a properly soldered wire. dont believe everything you read

It's just something I recall reading, more than once. Other than remembering that the reasoning seemed sound, I don't recall the specifics. I know it was enough to convince me to purchase the extensions, as opposed to working hard to screw something up. Let me see if I can find what I read and post a link.

Here is a thread I remember reading. Maybe it was more a matter of people not performing the extension correctly.

Either way, if it were me, I would just buy some extensions.

Thanks for all the input guys. Really helpful bunch around here. That (among other things) makes this a good place to hang out.

On a side note, like I said, I'm trying to get everything together ahead of time to do all of this work - without buying extra, unnecessary parts. Does anybody know for sure which length of O2 extension I will need with the long tube Pacesetters? Kind of sounds like it will be just one 12 incher.

I used two 24" extensions from LMPerformance.com I may have gone a little long, but I wasn't sure 12" would be quite long enough. Plus the 24" units allowed me to tuck them up under the car so they wouldn't get snagged on anything.

I'd rather do the plug and play. Solder and high heat often don't mix very well. Looks like 2 - 24 inchers. Thanks!
