Arrow Headers for autocross/stock motor

This is a little bit different question than most header threads. I autocross in ESP and in my class I'm not allowed engine mods. For a stock LT1 with intake and catback what headers would be the best? Lowend power is important. Thanks.

Mac's would be a good choice. I beleive the low end would be a better because they are only 1 5/8's primary. But i'm not 100% sure. Some people say with LT's the low end is better then shorties and visa versa.

That's what I'm confused about. I keep hearing that shorties or longtubes are better for low end. Not sure which.

Yeah i always thougt that the LT's were better up top, and the shorties would be better on the low end. I'm pretty sure that is right also. I think some good Mids would be good for what you want. Either the AS&M's or Mac's. I think the macs would be a bit better though cuz of the smaller primary. Hopefully somebody else will chime in.

Get some AS&M mid-length coated headers. That's probably your best bet.

Go with a mid length with a 5/8 primary tubes, any primarys bigger than that on a stock engine would place your power past the revlimiter.

.....longtubes man, you gain power EVERYWHERE very noticable power in the low rpms and high, I have ram air and longtubes and where we started the dyno run at 2k torque was already over 305 lb/ft at the ground and goes up to above 325 by 3000, peaks at 3900 with nearly 340lb/ft and horsepower peaks at 5300, longtubes are the ****. ground clearance is reduced somewhat but as long as roads are good where you live you'll have no problems especially noton a flat parking lot where you auto-x. Although whatever exhaust you have wont work or will have to be slightly modified to work with the longtubes.... but if you have the money longtubes are the way to go.

I would just go for longtubes They gave me a ton of bottom end over the stock manifolds and it pulls hard up top. I don't think there would be much of a difference from the bottom to the top to justify going with mid or shorties.

Won't headers push you into a different class? They do up here.

No, headers are legal in ESP. They are NOT legal in FS. Legal in street prepared and up, illegal in stock classes.
