Header Wrap

I've got stainless steel headers - not ceramic or Jet-Hot coated. What do you think of the various wraps out there for headers? Worthwhile or not?

Re: Header Wrap

Not only is it a fire hazard, it also weakens the steel and is known to eventually cause holes blown through the primaries.

Re: Header Wrap

The header wrap will allow moisture to develop under the wrap and sit there which will slowly wear down and ruin your headers. A waste.

Re: Header Wrap

With stainless headers I don't think you're going to have the normal problems associated with header wrap. Obviously the headers won't rust, and long term fatigue shouldn't be a problem since they aren't supporting any weight. I agree that it's still better to have them coated, but the wrap will retain the heat as well. The wrap will still rot off in a few months though.
