Unhappy Header problem

Alright, well I recently got the Pacesetter Long Tube headers. After waiting a few weeks for them to get here, I took them to a local exhaust shop to have them put in. To make a long story short, after a few days the total installation cost was $825. I got the headers put on, into the pacesetter Y pipe, into a 3 inch pipe back to a Hooker Aerochamber Muffler. (with 3" hi-flow cat.) Before this, all I had was a Flowmaster 80 series muffler. So i'm thinking im going to feel a decent change, nothing big, just a little more mmpph and a lot more sound. Well I crank it up and the damn thing is barely any louder except at wide open throttle, then its still nothing special. Also, there is barely any noticeable power increase. I used to break loose hitting second and stomping it in first around 3000 and now it barely barks. Im not sure if i was suppose to lose torque or what. Im really confused on the whole matter. I heard aerochambers were suppose to get louder the longer you had them, I can only say I hope so. And as for the power, im lost. Im hoping to get a 4.10 gear soon and maybe it will wake it up . I dont know. Any ideas or information about what might be wrong would be highly appreciated and im sorry for such the long post, just pretty upset about the whole thing.

Thanks

Matt

Well, let's start by asking:

1. What other (if any) mods you have to the car?

2. Are all sensors working as they should?

3. Have you scanned for codes?

4. Is the engine mechanically healthy?

The only other mods I have is a Moroso CAI, Throttle Body air foil, B&M shifter, and NGK Plugs and MSD wires and coil. I havnt had any lights come on and the engine is very healthy. Im scanning tommorow for any problems.

And no i dont have it tuned or LT4 knock module, what could be the problem there?

Thanks

Um yeah.... You'll need to look at the knock module - you really should have the car programmed.

Get a good cat-back too!

You'll see the gains you're looking for, just need to take care of little things.

Get an LT4 KM and a pcmforless.com tune. I gained 24rwhp after my jethot headers and the tune, and thats going to a more conservative dyno. I gained over 4mph in the 1/4 too.

The hooker is a GREAT catback.

I'm guessing that a few things could have happened.

1) Your O2's are crapped out, causing you to run rich.
2) You are getting lots of knock retard like others said, from the extra noise of the headers/exhaust. Get the LT4KM
3) Do you hear any exhaust leaks?

I gained about 25 rwhp/rwtq from my MAC header/ Hooker catback combo.

You just have to find that power. I would look into having www.madz28.com tune it.

Alright, i'll look into getting the LT4KM. I am getting a 4.10 soon, so I was going to wait and get tune after that. Thanks for all the input though.
