header install

So after researching my bad gas milage and miss at low rpms during partial to half throttle I put to and to together to figure out that my exhaust leak by the heads and headers is the result at least of the bad gas milage. So my question is what longtube headers have egr and o2's that can be installed w/out dropping the engine if there are any?

Re: header install

Ummm you dont have to drop the motor for any long tubes that I know of. Pacesetter, Jet Hot, and Hooker all have a emissions style long tube. You might have to remove some stuff off of the motor like the altenator, starter, and other things that get in the way but pulling the motor is not one of them.

Re: header install

Anybody know of LT's that will fit up to 93 with air/egr and not have to plug the passengerside. Also if I get the pacesetter longtubes w/air/egr will I have to run more piping back to the air/egr? I really want LTs where I dont have to block the passengerside off.

Re: header install

Which retailer are you looking at? The part numbers vary between retailers. Many of the supporting vendors carry them though as does Summit.

Re: header install

I would still spend the extra money and get the coating.

Re: header install

The Pacesetter LT emission's headers are 94-95 and 96-97 but none specifically for 93. So you would need to get 94-95 headers and rig up the passenger side to work.

Re: header install

I dont think any company makes an Emissions legal 93' header, i looked around for a couple weeks back in november cuz i was doing the swap.
As for coating definatly get it, it will keep engine temps down and you will have a sexy looking motor.

Re: header install

Did you get the emission legal 94-95 style. Also I have edlebrock shorties on there but they leak and they have a tube on the passengerside at the closest tube to the cowl as well as one on the driverside closest to the bumper. The tube on the passengerside is it suppose to be there for egr or air?

Re: header install

B.T.W. do i have to run the passengerside tube at the front of the headers on the LT back to meet up with the tube on the far back passengerside?

Re: header install

You have to eaither get rid of you emmisons stuff if you can or you need 94-95 style air pump stuff, thats what all the manufactures say anyway.
