header install.

BBK shorties. 93 LT1

Passenger side header does seem to want to clear the head. I've removed the valve cover but it just doesnt want to go. Should I remove the head? If so, would I need a new head gasket? How hard is it to remove a head?(Never taken them off before)

Re: header install.

You don't want to take off the head to put the header in. You'd need to dismantle the whole top end, take off the intake manifold then unbolt the head and remove it, yes you would need a new head gasket. There is a way to get it in, you just need to find it, go in from the bottom. I found with my MAC headers that an A/C line was in the way so I bent it a little bit and they went in fine.
