Header Help
Re: Header Help
Most companies sell a "legal" header (AIR, EGR) and a race header (no AIR, no EGR). Pacesetter sells both versions. Just pull your A.I.R. system out unless you have really tough emission laws.
Re: Header Help
If emissions are an issue, pacesetters are the way to go if you have your heart set on longtubes. Keep in mind that these will not be technically legal as you will be changing the position of the cat, but with all of the hookups, and a good aftermarket cat, you should pass without any problems.
If there are no emissions regs where you live, Pacesetter, Hooker and others make headers without the hookups, and deleting the AIR and EGR systems on your car altoghether is not difficult and you can find how-to's on this site.
Another option would be to go with a set of quality mid-lengths. Depending on your setup, you are not likely to give much up in the way of performance, and you would not have to mess with getting a Y-pipe fabbed up to work with a cat. AS&M and MAC seem to be the most popular midlength headers. Unless you have, or are planning for gonzo levels of power, you're not likely to be able to tell a difference, but there are a million threads covering this issue.
good luck.
