Header gaskets are leaking

Header gaskets are leaking

I got new copper ones to replace the paper ones. When i replace, does that mean im gunna have less power because its more restrictive?

gaskets should not be restrictive regardless of the material they are made out of. The holes in teh gasket should be bigger than the ports in you rheaders and heads

i think what he ment is, will he have less power cuz all the exhaust is now going where it is suposed to isted of leaking. right?

if you had a bad leak before if could lead to a power loss due to the o2 sensors could get a bad reading i think.

if am wrong feel free to correct me

ohhhhhhhhhhhh ic.

Header leak = loss of power, reason as mentioned, o2 sensors get lied to, u use more gas, you get black stuff building up outside your headers and inside your exhaust, its heartbreaking to be honest.

so fixing the leak will give me more power?

LT1 is D-Port right? i got new SEC copper ones, they were the ones that Summit said were for the headers just making sure though. Also are the bolts 3/4" or 1". I gotta replace some that fell out

they are d-ports.

3/4 is standard, 1" header bolts will work beautifully.

if i were you id stay away from the coppers...i had a set and they leaked on every port...copper against alum heads=leaks
