Header gasket fix?

THe gasket on my jethot headers blew out (about 1" long section) because the header was loos. Would it be worth trying to put some JB Weld on that section or should i just order new gaskets?

Any other suggestions?

NO JB is not ment for sealing, that would be a bad idea, also when you need to replace the old gaskets it will be even harder. Get some new quality gaskets, many use felpro. They make locking bolts that will keep them from coming out, although they are a pain to get on. I myself used the cheapy gaskets and have yet to see any problems, I had to retighten the bolts down every couple weeks about three times total, and they have not come loose since. They will naturally come lose when you have a new gasket just retighten, and recheck. I still recheck mine, but have not had any problems. Also don't forget to use anti-seize compound, steel and aluminum have a tendancy to get locked together and then break before coming out.

i just got done installing new gaskets and locking bolts in mine today. I would recommend getting some "percy's dead soft aluminum header gaskets". They are 40 bucks through jegs, they are extremely thick and best of all are reuseable. Also get some stage 8 locking bolts. I have had two header leaks on my car. The first time my bolts backed out and blew the gasket. The second time my felpros weren't thick enough and just leaked the bolts were tight too. I wanted to do this one more time and never have to do it again and i think with the parts i used i won't have to worry.
