Header fitment to other Chevy models.

Anybody here with 88-98 Chevy 4x4 experience regarding headers? I want to upsize my Edelbrocks for a new 383/FIRST/700r4 combo and there isn't a lot of serious headers that I'm interested in that are mid to full length (Stan's, Stainless Works). I am interested in Dyno Don's header as it has nice packaging and of course third gen is all he makes. I just recently ran across some forums where guys have interchanged headers between F bodies and 88-98 CK1500. These may be only the shorty style to factory Y, but if I ordered the Y unassembled.......I have more room to work than you guys, but the torsion bars and front driveshaft.....BTW the Edelbrocks may not perform but I had them coated and have given zero problems to date- may be forced to keep them. Any practical experience would be appreciated.

By "FIRST" do you mean you built it on a Gen 1 SBC?

It is a gen 1, maybe I shouldn't have included that- FIRST Fuel Injection TPI intake.

The Gen 2 LT1 uses a D-port exhaust manifold/header. That's why I asked if it was Gen 1.

I've run into that issue before looking at the GM Fastburn heads- I have the AFR Vortec heads and they fit the Edelbrock TBI headers with very little issue except the headers don't match the size/shape of the AFR that well. Using Remflex so no issues with leaks.
