Header decision.....Help spend my money!!!

Well After 2 days of trying to fix an exhaust leak on my 95 Z28 I had a stud freeze and break off. since im all about upgrades I figured it was a sign to go ahead and put headers on. My questions are, I am in search of a budget set of headers that will come with a new Y pipe or as an option that are california emission legal and I dont have to modify anything for them to fit. I just want a set that will bolt in place of my stock manifolds. My Z is a single cat system with a cat back magnaflow system. Im not concerned about ceramic coatings since i live in the desert and the weather doesnt seem to affect headers to bad. Im not looking for a set of headers i need to grow with either i dont plan on making this car into a 1000 HP ground Pounder because the cops around here know me fairly well and always have their eyes open while im around itching to catch me racing through town...hehe! Any help would be awesome....thanks!

There are plenty of options out there that are emissions compatible. BBK as you mentioned, Edelbrock, Pacesetter, and others. Do a search in the EXHAUST forum and I'm sure you'll find the headers that fit your budget and your Z, while staying legal. Good luck.

I've had these for about 30K miles and absolutely love everything about them. All the emissions hook ups too.

I had an older version of the mac headers. They are nice and the ball joints will never leak if you get them tight, but the primary flanges are not connected. Once they go through a few heat cycles they become a major PITA to work with if you need to change the gaskets or whatnot.

OP, ceramic coatings are useful for controlling heat as well as stopping rust. Probably the best headers for the money are the coated Pacesetter long tubes & Y pipe.
