Header Coatings
Header Coatings
Where does everyone recommend that I send my headers to be coated at? I have some custom street and performance headers for my motor swap in my truck and they look horrible. They were just un-coated and I painted em with heat paint. They looked AWESOME for about a week, but now they look horrible. I am going to do a heads swap pretty soon so I figured I might as well send the headers off and have them done right.
Not too impressed with jet-hot coating. Hasn't even been a year and already looking dull and rusting on the bottoms... and this is NOT an outside car. (never sees rain)
Might mention that my exhaust temps are higher than normal due to forced induction... but daymn.

Those header sprays and some powder and ceramic coatings don't last too long exposed to the abrasion from the road.
I sanded my collectors and brush coated them with Awl Grip 2 stage 50-50 epoxy marine paint mixed with sand.
It's an expensive product but I have a commercial use for it.
Grainger caries rustoleum brand 2 stage epoxy.
Hasn't burned off and is holding up good
