Which header bolts to use...

Hey eveyone...

Which header bolts do you guys recomend for my LT1? The headers I am using have a 3/8" flange. I would like to get the locking style so I dont have to screw with them anymore.

Breslin made very nice bolts. I wish I had known about them when I did my headers.
I don't think they make them anymore. At least, I have not been able to find anyone who still sells them.

Stage8 makes a great setup too (which is what I used).
The downside is that they are 3-peice and can be a pain to assemble.
I've not had any trouble with them. (On my Pacesetters or on my Hookers)

Either way, go with 1" bolts and quality gaskets.
You want as much thread contact as possible in there.

What kind of headers? If they're Hooker LT's Stage 8 bolts may work, but I never had luck with them because the locking washers were too large to work. Primaries were too much in the way.
Best header bolt I've used is the ARP 3/8" head header bolt. Either 6 or 12 sided and either 3/4" or 1" in length. You may need to retighten them a few times after the header gaskets shrink from normal heat cycles, but at least they easier to access.

Besling ALL the way, i've hda them on my new 383 built, i put alittle loctite on all the outside header bolts to see if they back out. NONE have, they are an amazing product. I have the header and collector bolts, I think they were about $45 for the header and like $25 or so for the collector. It seems the US side of the company is now gone, but you can get them here:

MAKE SURE you get the 1" rather then the 3/4", it will help out alot.
