Which Header Bolts?

I can order stage 8 locking header bolts in two different sizes, one is 3/4" long, the other is 1" long...which one do I order?

I am going to use these in conjunction with MAC headers, if it matters...

I have the ARP 6pt and love them. I only had to retighten 1 or 2 times when I first put them on (within 50 miles I think).

I would use Stage 8 3/4" header bolts. These are the ones I used with my Hooker LT's. The 1" bolts might be too long. They do require some modification to the locks, but this is easy to do with a dremel tool.

I would use 1", because I have myself 3/4" w. hooker shorties and they were really on the edge, so short that I didn't dare to tighten them up much. You can use 1" without any problems.

Ditto, I've had my headers on with ARPs for over 5 years and no problemos! Get the 1" lengths for thick flanges as 3/4" get a little short in the hole.

I used regular bolts that came with my headers. I just tightened them down after every cool down. After the 2nd time, most stayed tight. After the 3rd time, they never loosen.

Now I just check them once in a while when I check my oil.

I used 1" 12pt ARP's with mine. They fit fine and with the longer bolts there is less chance of stripping the aluminum threads when cranking down on them.

I'm happy with my 3/4" Stage 8s. I tried a 1 inch on one pipe when I was putting on my Lokar dipstick and I couldn't get it in the hole because the header pipe kept it ffrom being able to line up right. I'd go with the 3/4" bolts.

I had the Stage 8 bolts, but switched to ARP on the AS&M headers w/copper gaskets-The Stage 8's are good ,but a pain if you have to replace a header gasket - ARP's and copper gaskets are easier to deal with-if the bolts back out a little, put a wrench to 'em and tighten.
