Header Bolts?

One of the bolts is stripped a little bit and it still holds snug. But the bolts I have are cheap and only .75" long and are non locking. Which set could I get that will definetly hold it all together with some muscle? Will the 1 inch long ARP's fit? The BBK's flange is 3/8 of an inch so that takes alot from the small bolts.

Re: Header Bolts?

Breslins, Stage 8, or the 1" Arps will do the trick.

Re: Header Bolts?

Seriously... just get 1" bolts and throw some blue (NOT RED!) locktite on it... ive been doing that for a long time and never had an issue.

Locking header bolts are alot like a "tornado" intake... waste of money.

Re: Header Bolts?

I used 1" stainless 12 point ARPs. They have a very small head so you can get a box end on them no problem, and the 12 point helps to avoid rounding. I only had to retighten them after the first couple of heat cycles.

Re: Header Bolts?

another vote for the ARP stainless steel 1" ones. The have a 5/16 head on em which makes the a breaze to tighten. I would'nt use locktite in and aluminum head. Anything that bolts into aluminum needs anti-seize. Plugs, header bolts etc. Although I do just put sealant on the intake bolts. I stripped the last 2 pass. side header bolts in the head , took the right sized tap and dremeled the taper off of it and they straightened right out, got tight enough for me.
