head milling

angle mill or flat mill?

edit:
after searching more seems flat mill is the way to go. I was worried about the intake manifold being off then found this thread:
https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=422677
With my heads being milled and using Mr. Gasket head gaskets , I have taken off 0.035 off the heads.

Using the Forumla out of "How to rebuild Small- Block Chevy lt1-lt4 engines" by Mike Mavrigian

I mulitply 0.035 X 1.2 = 0.042 off the intake sides

and 0.035 X 1.7 = 0.595 off the bottom of the intake

MY QUESTION!!!

Do i take .021 off each side of the intake or do i take .042 off each side of the intake???
is that (amount milled off head) * (1.2) = (amount to mill off intake sides)
and
(amount milled off head) * (1.7) = (amount to mill off bottom of intake)
?

CURRENTLY I have a stock block, not decked, .026" thick headgaskets (.021" thinner than stock) and stock heads. the machine shop said the heads need a slight mill to clean them up. I figured if they're getting a slight mill I might as well take a little bit more off to bump the compression ratio a tad more. even if I decide not to it will still be a little more taken off. if its .003" off that puts my total difference from stock to .024". does that mean...
.024" * 1.2 = .0288" off intake sides
.024" * 1.7 = .0408" off bottom of intake

is this correct?

has anyone tested this?

I know I can do the exact math (mostly trigonometry) to figure out what needs to be done but it would be much more convenient if the formula holds true!
