Head install question?

I am going to put on my LE2 heads without the cam for now.All I have on the car is an intake and exhaust, minus the headers. The car is a 1996 corvette ce.What gain will I get from putting just the heads on for now?I am staying with the stock rockers but am changing the pushrods to hardened ones. Will it be seat of the pants gain?

By putting the heads on alone, you will not see much of a gain, if any. If the valves don't open longer and higher to take advantage of the additional airflow, you will see next to nothing, IMO. I'm not an expert, but I think there's opportunity to lose some HP, due to diminished port velocity.

But there will be more flow.I would think there would be some kind of gain. They are Lloyd Elliot 2 heads.

There won't be more flow if the valve events don't promote it. I just don't see it happening. Maybe someone else will chime in.

I say do it and tell us what you get from it. It would be interesting to know.

If possible, dyno results are desirable. The SOTP meter around here doesn't fly all too well.
