A buddy of mine told me their is a head gasket that is thinner for are cars thus bringing the compression up... Is this true and which one is it??? Might be a dumn question but I gotta ask because im in the middle of rebuilding my motor....

 

Yes, he's probably talking about the Impala SS gasket. Improvement in compression is minimal but the quench is improved.

 

I believe the GM part number for the Impala SS head gasket is 3830711
