head gasket swap checklist

alright, lets see what im gonna need, and where to get it cheapest.

head gaskets(felpro, autozone wants 130 for both, reasonable price?)
intake gasket(which one?)
valve cover gaskets??
ARP head bolts(i read they are good insurance)

i think i've read that you can buy a gasket kit that has all the neccesary gaskets in one...any info on it?

Call summit or jegs you can by .039 headgaskets and get a half a point on compression and they only 64 shipped, intake gaskets are like 24 bucks at autozone, and arps are like 55, but the stocks ones work fine but they are 12.95 a side at autozone, so you should spen about 150 or so if you go that rout, or you can get the stock ones which i beleive are like 20 a side but i aint for sure on that just call your local autoparts store.

Good luck

its good to replace the manifold gaskets but you dont have to worry that much about the valve cover gaskets because those are rubber and dont usually go out, buti would get some manifold gaskets their like 24 bucks from autozone. btw is the motor still in the car when you are goin to do this?

yep, the motor is still gonna be in the car. I was looking over how i'm gonna go about getting the manifolds off... this aint gonna be easy. ITs gonna be a few weeks before I can afford the parts, but I Think Im gonna have to start tearing it down earlier than that

Thunder Racing sells complete gaskets kits for just about every install. I'd recommend getting new crush washers for the banjo bolts on the rear coolant cross over tube. Maybe new banjo bolts too depending on their condition.
