Head gasket
can you still have a blown head gasket even if there is no water in the oil?
Or smoke from the exhaust. but I do have bubles in the coolant and the car does heat up while I drive????????

Re: Head gasket
doubt it, sounds like you just need to bleed your system completly. tokk me 3 days of the car sitting with rad cap off, They are damn hard to get the air out. By a new thermo might help
Re: Head gasket
Before my rebuild I had the same problem. Bleeding air out did not help but I couldn't find any coolant in oil. It was just a really small gasket leak. I took it to an old school mechanic friend and he had a ball that he held above rad cap and sucked up vapor into it, if this green fluid in it turned blue it meant it mixed with carbon monoxide, so there was a leak. Ask around about that too. But mine had all the same probs your having.
