Head coolant crossover pipe bolts question

Allright, when I tore my motor apart those soft bolts on the back of the head that hold on the coolant crossover pipe on got stripped. I figure I'll go to GM to get replacement ones. My question is is there anything special to do to these bolts to keep them from leaking when I install them. Also is there a different part number for the harder version of these bolts used in the later LT1s that I could ask for when I go to the dealer? I'm building a complete new motor btw.

You need the four seals for the bolts.-$20.Two on each.Ask for the bolts for a 97 camaro,I dont know if they are different.Make sure you start them in by hand.

I believe those banjo bolts have been revised. The ones I received from the dealer recently were a true 14mm(???) fit and seemed to be hardened.
Seems the stock junkers were steel magnesium or almost aluminum or something similar. And yes you need the seals. Shoebox's website has the part number.

The heads should be 15mm. I believe early, stock bolts had a smaller head and were prone to stripping. The replacement bolts and later model bolts have the larger heads.

Ya those stockers suck man! New seals and new banjo bolts on my crossover tube actually brought down the temps on my car. I guess they were leaking and letting air in. Cheap fix!

My stockers got blown out, I needed a replacement. Went to Murrays, bought a pack in the help section. They're just washers with a rubber seal. I bought the 12mm set, worked fine, no leak, dry as can be. Was free cuz my bud works there, but I think it was only 3 bucks.
