The head and cam power list!

Here's an idea. Everyone with BOTH ported heads and a cam, post the cam specs, head specs, and dyno numbers. This will give people searching a good baseline dependent on combo's and a rough estimate on what they should see with which cam they choose. I'll go first:

Comp XE 224/230 .536/.544 112 LSA

Joe Prince Racing Heads
I don't have the flow sheet yet, but at cam lift it flows:
.536=272 Intake, .544=210 Exhaust

Dyno: 375 RWHP, 363 RWTQ

STILL TUNING, NEW NUMBERS WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS HOPEFULLY.

If anyone has any ideas please feel free to add them. I'm thinking about building a page onto my website with a shortened version of what we come up with here.

your flow # are 272/210? I'd throw a bigger cam in there and make 30 more horsepower. Good exaust #'s BTW...

no those numbers are good enough IMO if you can make those with that cam stay with it, you'll make more power throught the pwoer band

ps. I would consider going higher ratio rockers like 1.65 or 1.7 with those heads & take advantage of the air flow & bigger TB

Thanks for the compliments guys. There's a little left via tuning, but not a lot. We're expecting to see a hair over 280/270. The nice thing is that the torque curve is PHAT!!! The entire graph it's up over 300, and over 350 from about 3800-5400.

I thought about 1.7's, but I'm not too sold on that yet.

If I go bigger on the cam, it's going to be a GM847. After seeing a stock head car trapping 113, I shiver to think how I'd do.

Back to the subject at hand, how about some people start throwing some setups and numbers so I can start a database?

Little brother did 340.8rwhp and 332.6rwtq with a LT4 Hotcam and stage 1 heads (just basically cleaned and slightly ported). But, this is through an automatic with a 2500rpm stall convertor. The people at the dyno said "Very impressive with that cam/auto/stall!"

This is the kind of info I'm looking into using for building a database on such setups. Thanks!

If you really want to compare, then you need to have people specify fuel type, A/F, correction factor (i.e. SAE vs. STD), and drivetrain components along with other parts like fuel & exhaust.

Oh, and what kind of dyno the #'s were obtained with.. accepted standard 248c/stang, some cheap knockoff... or via. ***-meter.

An actual graph would be nice as well, as lots of people love posting peak #'s, & spikes that shouldn't be considered

Heads that flowed 254/188 @ .500 lift

GM847 camshaft, 234/242 @ .050, .539/.558 lift

412rwhp, 371rwtq

Everyone!!!! What he said!!! No butt-o-meters either. Some kind of proof to back it up!

Oh, and Grease, you made my day. If my car doesn't pass emissions in NJ, I'm registering it in PA, and putting an 847 in. I'd probably be close to 420 judging by your numbers vs. my heads and numbers.

I just wanted to say that I think this thread is a good idea too. I am still deciding on what setup to go with so I will be watching this thread closely. I agree that things like headers, exhaust, and tuning should be included.
