My love for Camaro's go back a long ways. I remember being all excited to see the new LS1 car and the new "look." How disappointed I was when I saw the car. The car looks huge and bulky and doesn't even look sporty (unless you add the SS hood, then it can pass). Reminds me of a boat.

I would mod up the LT1 and blow 99% of all LS1's off the road...

na for na, the LT1 is taking a beating-
but who said anything about it being NA

hell, who said it was going to be fair!

If you go with the LT1- get some 64-72 cc heads, Xe blower grind and 8psi. Lets see them LS1 guys flow THAT!

Trey, that's a damn good paper! But the only thing I have to point out is that it's based on the stock set-ups. Once the aftermarket gets involved, most of those advantages dissapear. Most people on here plan to get serious with modifying their engines, which means tearing it down and putting the best parts available in it and the best heads on it.

Who said you have to stick with the LT1's 23* heads? Hell, do the genI head conversion and you have just as much potential as, if not more than, the LS1s NA or boosted. LT1s have 15* and 18* heads available to them too. So rather than selling the LT1 you have now you can keep it, do the conversion, and have an LS1 killer. It has to be cheaper than buying another car and starting over.

I love both engines to death, but sooner or later you're gonna hit a point where they're basically equal. Especially when you put a great set of genI heads on the LT1 and take away about all of the LS1's power advantages. Then they both have incredible potential that many people aren't going to have the nuts to try to max out.

I do believe, however, that if you never plan to get out of the 11s, then get the LS1. It'll be far cheaper. But after that, take your pick and have fun b/c it really doesn't matter which one you get.
