Not sure where they all go, but I'm thinking maybe just pull the harnesses off the PCM.

I droped mine from the bottom, and left everyting in place. I just disconnected the 3 wires from inside ( pass side )and pulled them through the firewall, and layed the pcm on top of the motor.
You also need to disconnect the ground in the front by the coil, and the o2s. The first time i diconnected everting what a mistake .

You have to unplug 4 connectors under the passenger kick panel and pull them through with the grommet into the engine compartment. With that and the pcm unbolted, you can leave the whole thing on the engine.

[edit] I did not have a lift-just my trusty floor jack.

Really? Did you find it any easier than out the top? Also how high did you have to jack the front end of the car up?

Thanx!

I'll put it to you this way. I am NOT a mechanic, and i had my engine out in 2 hrs. Best part is that i rolled it out. I have a indoor crane where i work, so lifting was not a problem. I hear of people using engine jack to lift the car. I first put all 4 tires on ramps, so i wouldnt have to lift as high. Then unbolt the 8 shocktower bolts, K- member, tranny mount, and drop the D.S, and the motor and tranny rolls out. I never did it from the top, so i dont know whats involved that way.
I left the website papers at work. Ill give them to you tomarrow so you can from pic whats involved.

The front of the car is 3 feet off the ground and the back tires are up on about 8" blocks. I have not pulled one out the top of a 4th gen, so I can't compare.

How'd you get the front end up so high....safely? This does sound a bit easier than through the top and risking a cracked winshield.

i couldnt get the tubing off the back of my heads, so i took em out with the tubing still on there, and then took off the tubing. Was a Pita, and as for the Power stearing pump, it took me forever to figure out there were holes in that pully, i was so mad at myself after i found it. I tried alllllllllllll sorts of ways to get at that thing

I'm talking about the bolt behind the pump.

Floor jack and carefully used spacers of wood. I slowly raised it, using the structure at the bottom of the radiator, following it with jackstands under the pads by the fenders. I have heard others say they just alternately jacked the sides of the car up.
