Having fitment issues with Racetronix fuel pump into stock bucket- *pics*

I'm having some fitment issues with the Racetronix pump into the stock fuel bucket. Just wondering if you guys had the same problems. In the picture below you can see (from left to right) the new fuel pump, the fuel bucket housing and the old fuel pump. Notice how the old fuel pump on the right has the inlet at the bottom offset, and also on the fuel bucket the inlet is offset as well. However, the new pump has the inlet directly in the middle. Because of this I can't get the bucket to fit together. I have the FLT1-FPA that I bought from Thunder Racing.

There are plastic ribs on the inside of the bucket. You have to get a dremel or something equivalent and grind them down.

I've got a die grinder in the garage and can make quick work of the ribs in the bucket. If I do that though, won't it cause the pump to sit at an angle in the bucket assembly due to the top part of the bucket housing holding the pump directly in the middle of the bucket, but the bottom part being off center?

I'm a little bit disappointed in this pump being "plug and play", yet the pump is not fitting into the bucket like it should, and not only are there no instructions in the box, but nowhere to be found on the racetronix site either.

if you email racetronix, they will send them, all you had to do is search this site to find this info

I've been searching on this site, and must have missed it. The point is, however, that I paid $160 for a Racetronix pump assembly that did not come with instructions. I shouldn't have to scour the internet or e-mail them for an install guide, it should have come in the box.

I just took a scraper and removed the ribs. Just remove a little at a time with you grinder untill the pump fits. The instructions tell you the remove the ribs to make the larger pump fit. I know i emailed them and got the instructions.

They don't include instructions as they do not encourage DIY home people to install this. If you email them they will gladly send you the directions though.

All their instructions will say is that some buckets came with ribs that prevent the pump from sitting straight in the bucket and if your does, then you will have to trim them to get yours to fit.
I posted the directions they gave me and they had a fit about confusing people so I withdrew my post, at their request. Yes, they should include the instructions with their stuff, but at least you can get the info if you email them. A little backwards but .... they are Canadian.....eh!

I don't think I even reused the bucket. Just fastened the pump to the assembly with 2 stainless hose clamps. Been fine since April '03 when I did it.

Thats what I did as well, I also used some fuel safe hose around the clamps to help cushion the pump.
