Having bad luck I guess
Having bad luck I guess
I get up this morning, go to town, come home, get ready and go to work. Well I realize I'm low on gas and there's no gas station open past 12 which is when I get off work. I tell my supervisor I have to leave 30 minutes early, he says fine. Then he ask is I would come back for about an hour. I said sure, since I was and hour late yesterday. Well I left to get gas and went back to work. Went in for around an hour and thirty minutes. Come back to my car and sit down, turn the key and the lights go out and then start flashing after it turned over about twice slowly. So my supervisor comes out and give me a jump. We just let his truck run on my battery for a minute or two and now the interior lights brighten to what I would call normal and radio comes on, which I turn off of course. When I go to start the car it does the same thing, but it seemed a little stronger. I'm thinking maybe my starter got wet and shorted killing the battery, since it's been raining all day. I'll make sure tomorrow. Any thing you guy's can think of that would make it do this?
Re: Having bad luck I guess
Well it was one of the two things I thought it would be. Serves me right for rushing and not putting my tools back in the car when I was done. The positive battery terminal was corroded. I should have checked it when my amp started going into protection mode. The battery was fine, I unhooked the terminal, cleaned it and it fired right up. If I'd had my tools with me last night I wouldn't have had to leave my Nissan at work. Now I have to get a ride to work so I can drive my Nissan home. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't raining. I hate having to work on something when it's raining. My supervisor had some pliers but I couldn't see the terminal last night good enough to unhook and check it.
