Exclamation Have some Problems-Please Help

I just installed a new water pump on my 97 Formula and have some problems. Some coolant got onto the opti and it had to sit overnight and dry out before it would start up.
Now I am having a hard time starting the car, especially cold starts, but when it does start up it runs great, idles great, and doesn't miss at high rpm's.
Also, the cooling fans are now running ALL the time and are really loud. They're on from when the car starts till its off.
Any ideas on what is causing my hard starts and cooling fan issues and how to fix them??

Temp switch in the water pump. Might want to check it out. Did you accidentally bust a wire or the connector, or even CONNECT the connector when you were finished? The hard start, fans on is DIRECTLY related to that temp switch.

I will check the temp sensor. I am also getting a SES light if that helps out.
Anybody else have any advice? Thanks guys!

Yeah, you can add the SES to those symptoms too.

IT appears that all the sensors are connected properly, not sure what to check next. Could it be a blown fuse or relay that may be causing these problems?

As long as the check engine light is on the fans will be on(I think). You need to get your car scanned if you can't visually see anything wrong with it, that will tell you why the light is on.

I still think you need to check and make sure you didn't crack the Engine coolant temperature sensor or bend one of the prones on the sensor when you plug it back in.

Because if it is not plug up or is damaged the car will be hard to start and will flood for a few minutes then it will get slightly better. It gets better because it will go into open loop and just use store default values for the coolant sensor. It thinks you car is -60 degrees below zero.

Have a goodone! Lee!!
