Have a question about Pacesetter LT's and rest of my setup
Ok guys.
Question 1:
I have a choice of getting Pacesetter LT's without emission hookups (racing) and Pacesetter LT's for the 96-97 cars. The racing headers are 85 dollars cheaper. Is it worth the 85 dollars to have to remove my AIR and EGR systems and send my computer in to delete these? Or should I just get the emission hookup ones at summit for $285.
Question 2:
Are the Y-pipes the same for both? I thought I read something about there being an offroad version and a street legal version.
Question 3:
How does this system of LT's and Y pipe integrate to a Cat system? Since my car is a 2 cat system, how the hell do I replicate this without massive expense? I want to pass emissions even though the area of my state does not test for it.
Question 4:
What lower end cat back would be best (hooker, slp, magna, etc)
You're input is GREATLY appreciated !

Re: Have a question about Pacesetter LT's and rest of my setup
1)You will most likely spend near 85 dollars to have the codes removed from your PCM and to buy EGR blockoff plates. Plus, since you have emissions, it really isn't advisable to remove these systems, there is no power gains to be had.
2)The off-road y-pipe is the same for both header styles
3)The long tubes do not integrate to your dual catted y-pipe. The only thing you can do is put on the off-road y-pipe and have a shop weld in a pair of catalytic converters. The passenger side will fit a cat with no problems, the drivers side is trickier, there is alot of stuff in the way posing clearance issues, but if you use a mini-cat it should wedge in there with no problems. I had a shop weld in a pair of high-flow 3" Pypes mini-cats into my off-road ypipe.
4)My old catback was an Edelbrock and after only a couple of years, it was rusted up pretty good. I went for the all stainless Magnaflow and it is a very good quality catback. It was a little too tame for me so I had a shop weld in a 3" stainless steel exhaust cutout as well right before the rear axle.
