Has anyone run the Delteq Opti system??

Just wondering if anyone has run the Delteq opti system on their LT1, I just purchased one and i was wondering how easy it is to install, if you like it, and any tips or problems you had run into while installing it??
Thanks!

Did you try searching before posting? There have been some recent Delteq threads (mostly about how there is no longer any tech support).

Last time I checked, the Delteq website was deceased.... just like their customer support, and the availability of replacement parts.

Yep - it's down. They should have at least put up a single webpage
that states they have shut down the business. I guess there's always
LTCC for those that are looking for an Opti diversion.

I have the system. It's fairly straightforward to install, only took a few hours for me and a friend to do. It has worked great for me the past 3-4 years (knock-on-wood). But as everyone has said, it's a dead system now so if something does happen you,I and everyone else who has it will be SOL

The delteq "brain" is made of cheap crappy plastic that warps easily from the underhood temps. No more warranty support, or tech support is available on the unit. Personally I'd return it and go the ltcc route.

return it to who ever you bought it from , i got mine from pace performance but it was out of the return time frame after i got it installed , my recomendation is dont install it . It's a 50/50 chance it will work with no problems . for me it wrecked one of my cats because it would intemitantly shut the ignition down , going ltcc now

Assuming he bought it from a vendor with a return policy. He certainly didn't buy it direct. Now if he bought it third party then he's out of luck.

I haven't installed yet but talking to the guys at TPiS all of the parts that are supposedly inferior are manufatured by caddilac. It is the same ignition componants as what is on the northstar engines.

I have the delteq setup on mine and love it, but as to your Cadillac comment I am not sure that is accurate. From what I understand the only parts that are similar to the Caddy are the Coils and Coil pack/tray the Opti Box or brain from what I know was never part of the Caddy setup and was designed to replace the single coil on the LT-1's.

well thanks for all the info guys, i didnt know the delteq was such a shady setup... but unfortunetly i did buy it from a 3rd party and i am unable to return it, so I'm going to give it a try and hope for the best. For those of you who are running it now, do you have any recomendations on the type of wires I should get? besides running the delteq wires which come with the setup?

First off the Delteq setup is not shady and has worked for tons of Fbody guys over the years flawlessly, including myself for 3 years now. The problem is the support as JP is not doing well health wise and has not made good plans for the future of his company. Therefore, the product is great but poor future support. As to the wires go with any good quality wire and taylors are good wires as well.
