Yes it has been done. Do you understand the cost is MUCH higher than the cost of the kit you are looking at? You have to add coils and such to it.
I guess the best question to ask you is what do you think you are going to get out of it?

I dont know what I am trying to get out of it, I have an MSD box and have never had problems with the opti, but if it is a night and day differance between the LS1 and LT1 ignitions, then why wouldnt I make the switch. And I am aware that I have to purchase the coils and other parts, I read the fine print.
Ok to clarify, I should have asked what the results were of the people that did this conversion.
For those of you who have done this conversion do you think it was worth it?

Also consider most people will have done the conversion on WORN ignition systems and half the supposed gains will come from fresh parts not necessarily the swap to a multicoil system.
I will agree the multicoil is technically better but have to say at the same time the stock system is capable of more than 99% of guys here will ever ask of it.

The LSx coils setups have proven to provide the strong ignition required for big power-adder setups, like a 300-shot of nitrous or 20# of boost.
The other advantage, for all applications, is getting the high voltage out of the Opti, and leaving the optical sensor in a cleaner environment.
I've been running 8 LS1-style coils for 7+ years (not the LTCC).
The other advantage, for all applications, is getting the high voltage out of the Opti, and leaving the optical sensor in a cleaner environment.

Thanks for the info. Right now my set up is the GM opti, GM Platinum plugs, Taylor 8.5MM, and I have an MSD Digital 6 box...Do you think it would be worth the cost and aggravation to convert to a coil setup or do you think that I have an adequate setup for my car right now as I do not have a cam (yet) or any other power adder. Also can I use the Taylor wires I have (its the OTVC kit) with the coil setup.

I think the answer to your question is that in 99% of the cases, the LTCC or "coil conversion kits" in general are of no benefit (performance-wise) to a car with a properly working opti/ignition.
High RPM cars can benefit due to limitations of the rotor...

How did you connect the 2 pink wire that connect to the pink with black stripes(12volts)at the coil.Since they are coming out by the loom near the ltcc main plug
Same thing with the white one wich is ground but need to be connect to a pcm ground @ ignition module(yellow with black stripes).How did you connect it since its coming directly from the main ltcc plug.
I see that the big loom is going toward the rear of the intake and couldnt figure out where those wire are since theyre not route in front where the ignition module/coil was?
