Re: harmonic balancer

i would say he factory balancer is fine for most setups. i went wth the pro products balancer for the keyed hub feature. just a little extra insurance and it only cost about $80 but its basically a stocker.

I have the ASP one and I like it, but if you are gonna be spinning to high rpms, then it is not reccomended.

Re: harmonic balancer

I decided to go with the ATI Super Damper on mine. It isnt cheap, but I didnt want to risk using the stock one after spending thousands on a forged 383...

Re: harmonic balancer

How fast are you planning to go? NHRA requires an SFI-rated damper when you go under 11.00

Re: harmonic balancer

My buddy built a motor for his 5.0 stang and left his "slightly used" balancer on after new build. It lasted him a weekend and the balancer helped his piston go through the front of his block. Ever since that day, I've had the mindset of replacing the balancer everytime I replace the rotating assy. (Not that I ever do that though.)
