Re: harlan shift light
Tap the tach feed, white wire, in the connector C230 (cavity d) shown in this picture. http://shbox.com/1/keyless_entry.jpg I'm not sure of the wiring colors on the harlan but black and red would be power and the other is the tach signal.
Re: harlan shift light
ok kool and where is the keyless remote box located at. on the harlan light it is red for a 12 volt, black for ground, and green for the tach input. i know how to work it but i suck at wiring things together.

Re: harlan shift light
Go to Radio Shack and look at their tap connectors. They have some that squeeze around the existing wire with the wire being tapped to it. The connector(c230) you're looking for is located behind the passenger kick panel where your right foot would kick the part in front of the door if you were sitting in the passenger seat. For the power, find an ignition switched source and ground to the frame.
Re: harlan shift light
ok and do you have any idea where "an ignition switched source" would be. the shiftlight is like 3 in long and has maybe a foot and a half of wiring. what would i need to have to extend these wires to everything. or should i just have a professional do it.

Re: harlan shift light
i just got a harlan light and the wires coming out of the light are only 10 inches long. also, how do i secure it properly in the left small ac vent in a T/A on the a-pillar?
Re: harlan shift light
I tap my 12 volt constant, 12 volt switched, and ground, to the radio wires. I just take the radio out, find the right wire on the harness, and splice it. I can't remember exactly which color 12 volt switched is, but you can easily find it. Just look it up or ask someone that knows car stereos. Good luck.
